"Nice place, but needs some attention to detail"

5 forks for a six person rental. Horror story of scratched Teflon pots and pans. No replacement garbage bag when told to take out garbage on Wednesday. No tea or milk. Etc.

"Super location for a weekend in beautiful Ambleside"

This is a beautiful little cottage in a peaceful location a stone's throw from the heart of Ambleside. The facilities were excellent, the kitchen was very well appointed and everything was stylish and comfortable.

There is no street parking around Lily Tarn from 10am-6pm, except for one hour with a disk. Arrival and unpacking would have been less stressful if there had been a disk in the cottage. The free parking permit is valid for the Rydal Road Car Park (and others) which is a 7 minute (flat) walk away. It does get very busy though. The designation of two of the bedrooms as "king-size" is slightly misleading - they are not cramped but not huge either, and the beds are standard doubles (perfectly comfortable though).
