Excellent value for money for a small but well equipped hotel. Newish owners clearly making some cosmetic improvements. Only constructive feedback would be that it wasn’t always easy to identify who were members of staff and who were guests. Would definitely stay again

If you want a laid back hotel, with friendly staff, that feels like your staying at some old aunts house, who has just given up with trying to stay modern, this is a great place to go retro! Staff are so friendly, just in some time warp!
We didn’t get off to a good start as were told no food was available due to a Christmas party being held. We were told we could have the party meal at a cost of £29.99. Having already eaten a main meal we didn’t want another. After complaining to a manager sandwiches were provided. Our room was lovely but there was a few issues. To fill the kettle we had to climb into the bath as the sink was too small to be able to fill the kettle. My husband had problems getting in and out of the shower. He has reduced mobility and no hand rail is provided. The second night we stayed we went down for a drink. The lounge area was very cold. On speaking to one of the owners we understand they have just taken over and have quite a few issues to sort. Overall we were disappointed mostly to do with communication. We should have been told in advance about the limited food options and given the option to cancel or find an alternative. We choose not to eat any other meals at the hotel due to the issues incurred and spent our money in other local venues.
The location was excellent for exploring S West Devon, either by car or by the very convenient public transport. While some areas of the hotel were in need of some TLC it was obvious that the owners were carrying out plans of refurbishment!
Lovely overnight stay, pool and jacuzzi were great. Excellent breakfast. Close to Blackpool Sands beach.

The owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and the food was excellent. The leisure facilities were good.
