The property is very spacious for a 2 bed 2 bathroom house set in a large plot with only the gardener's house and out building to the side of the large front garden.. Well equipped for self catering, very clean and also has heaters which will be needed in the winter months when there is little sun due to the tree cover. The property does not advertise parking because they say customers expect covered parking. However, the front garden does provide ample parking which is needed, as parking is at a premium in this location. It has a lovely back deck and garden which is private due to the trees, there is however CCTV cameras monitoring the rear deck and front entrance. The rear garden has a pathway leading down to the stream which is also very private.

The village of Mae Kampong is about a 12 minute drive (40 minute walk) away but finding even paid parking was near impossible (visited in December). A better idea would be to negotiate a return trip with a songthaew driver and you find them parked in the parking lot next to the property. Although still featured in the website the tree house in the rear garden is no longer there. The free breakfast stated in the booking did not arrive.

"Probably the best place to stay near Mae Kampong, but..."

8.0

Great building on the outskirts of Mae Kampong, very private because of the trees surrounding it. Access to private part of the stream and tree house thing out the back is really great. Mosquito nets on the windows is amazing as there were a lot of mosquitos when we were there (rainy season). Hot shower with nice pressure. Great covered deck out the back for BBQ / dinner. Fast internet connection. Free drinking water. Compared with places in Mae Kampong town this is probably the best place to stay.

It's not really walkable in to Mae Kampong (30 mins all uphill), so you still need to drive and find parking in the village. The kitchen utensils were all dirty and very used. One wine glass, a few burnt pots, few plates, no sharp knives. They could all do with replacing/updating. We were expecting a gas BBQ based on photos we found online but only found charcoal BBQ, and there were no decent utensils to use coals. Soi dogs came to the back of the house every few hours looking for food which is not so nice.
