Day Dream Hellnar

Nice place. Hot water and based on a to small boiler for a family. They at least need to warn us to have short showers. Takes quite a long time for the water to warm again. The place was not very clean. The rooms upstairs are small and have thin walls, you can hear everything from room to room.

Good location. Nice kitchen.

It's beautiful. It's practical. It's very comfortable and nice. Well stocked. Had puzzles and tea and coffee. Was nice.

Stairs are absolutely dreadful. Very very dangerous. Be aware. In a windy day the sounds of the house crackling are soothing almost, but at night makes up for a very sleepless time. It's way to noise. Roof sound like it's gona come off at any moment.

The house is bright and has a nice and comfy feeling about it. Quiet and close to nature and interesting places to visit.

The beds are uncomfortable. Wind blows through with windows and outdoor. The bathroom is icecold. The house was not clean enough for my taste. The staircase to the second floor is not safe for young children. The check in time is very late and check out time too early.

It is a wood house, so the house makes noise under heavy wind.

Great location and beautiful home

Lack of kitchen supplies. There was only one pan and it is nearly impossible to cook for a family with the lack of pots and pans. We were supposed to have a microwave but there was no one to be found. I messaged to property but was effectively ghosted until after I had checked out. They promised to follow up and never have.

The house was clean and charmingly light filled. It is half of a house, in a small area of about 6 or 8 homes, all of which appear to be rentals in the same style, very near the Fosshotel Hellnar. I loved all the windows, and the views of fields, a tiny church and the glacier. The downstairs was spacious and bright. We let ourselves in easily with a lockbox.

At night, even though it was summer, the wind whistled and howled through the house and the frame shook. We didn't mind - made it feel more authentic than a hotel stay. The home was clean, but the bathroom and kitchen were a little old and very basic. There was only one (skimpy) towels per person. Other sites have detailed reviews of this property, and they discuss the steep steps. I think that is a misnomer. The "steps" are really just a ladder. Not for the elderly or little kids. Even for us, it just made it a pain to come down to use the (only) bathroom. Also, if you have big luggage, it is almost impossible to carry it upstairs so we had it all over the living room... almost nowhere else to put it.
