"Very comfortable cottage in an idyllic location"

10.0

Lovely, well-equipped, spacious cottage in a beautiful location. Ideally situated for local walks and visiting Kelso or attending events at Floors Castle. The owner provided us with lots of information and even offered us a late checkout on the Sunday.

"Very good"

8.0

Location was perfect for us with peace and quiet looking onto beautiful views.Dog walks also good.Village shop was well stocked and friendly staff.

If I could make 1 criticism and it's small I would have liked newer towels in the cottage. They were hard and definitely seen better days but everything else was very comfortable.

"An absolute gem of a place was delighted to find such a lovely cottage near to Kelso!"

10.0

I loved the cottage it had everything I needed and more! I had to use the sofa bed downstairs as I couldn't manage the stairs...it was sooo comfy! The icing on the caķe for me was having an exercise field a stones throw away for the dogs.

Absolutely nothing....I could not fault the cottage!

"Warm, clean but hosts weren’t up front about there being nowhere to get an evening meal and considerably more expensive"

5.0

It was warm, clean and easy to access. Comfortable bed ( note steep stairs to bedroom) People in the village are very friendly but note that the shop closes at 4pm. Info re pub closure and limited shop opening hours has now been updated

Weren’t told when we made this very expensive, no cancellation booking (we found out because we asked!) that the village pub is currently closed and there were NO other options for evening meal therefore not the best choice for St Cuthbert’s walkers. Having found out several days before our trip that the pub was actually closed, we asked the owners to leave some basic provisions, which having checked we would be bringing cash to reimburse, they did. Wish we had been more assertive and asked for a cancellation once we discovered the pub was closed. Ham omelette cooked in vegetable oil washed down with tap water was a bit grim after a 10 hour hike!
