Poplar Farm House

We had a family function in Sandwich at the Bowls club that inevitably involved a few drinks. This was perfect, accommodating ourselves, our daughter with 2 children and my son and partner for 2 nights. The decoration was fresh, clean and striking and some nice touches like a few nibbles on arrival. Good sized beds and bedding, bathroom and a separate shower room and a great outdoor space for the grandchildren. It was not winter but still cool and the heating was excellent in fact we had to turn it down. Ample parking for the 3 cars we turned up in and good WiFi. Slight problem with the sofa and a bit of overlooked cleaning but adding that criticism here rather than in the dislike section as it was picky AND the owners responded really well so in a way a positive, nowhere is 100% perfect but the important things is the owners getting it sorted. We would definitely stay again.

• Accommodation wasn’t spotlessly clean on arrival (crust of bread under the sofa for example, and one person said their pillow case had a brown mark on it) – mugs and plates were stained and dirty, and needed washing. (we realise the hard water makes it more tricky) • Dishwasher didn’t get items clean on intensive setting, so we washed by hand towards the end of the holiday • Some drawer handles were falling off • Some blinds were broken, so rather than using them and risking further damage we pegged them up • House information manual appeared generic and not particular to the property in places. Tin recycling was not mentioned in the manual and yet Thanet council appears to recycle this. Mention of black or purple bin bags to be used but none were available. • Could do with an additional toilet brush upstairs

The location was fantastic since we were in the area for golf. The layout of the house was perfect! Having spacious rooms upstairs was an added bonus. Really felt like this was an incredible place to stay! This house would be an ideal place to stay for anyone. Having friends together in one house is always nice.

Nothing I can say I really disliked about this beautiful home. When the only thing you can think of is the hallway night light being bright, then you know your reaching for negative things. Look, place is great!

Great location. Excellent facilities. Very comfortable for 7 adults and 2 dogs!!
