the house is really beautiful and very well maintained.

checking in was a horrible experience, i waited an hour outside the cottage and called the owner multiple times but i didn’t get an answer about checking in. i had to contact booking.com to sort the issue. I almost left the town because of this issue. the owner didn’t offer any kind of consolation either for this incident the house has small flying insects because of the garden

"Great location, lovely accommodation, a real find."

Self-catering but coffee, tea and milk kindly provided, along with some foodie treats which were very welcome. Charming cottage, excellent central location in a beautiful town. As we stayed at the weekend, free parking was available in the council offices nearby. Great communication from host Nikki.

No negatives.

"Comfortable and adequate."

The only disappointment was having to book out at 10 am instead of the originally stated 11 am. Otherwise no complaints a nice touch was a bottle of wine and nibbles provided.

"Lovely, well-kept property close to town. Perfect for our needs."

Very close to town. Lovely, comfortable property. Ample parking at the Council offices nearby, though I am told that this is only at weekends. Great communication with host and easy check-in and out. Lovely, comfortable bedrooms.

No complaints. Steep internal stairs. No problem for us, but may not suit all.

"lovely, comfortable cottage in fantastic location."

clean, comfortable and cosy cottage with plush beds and a beautiful garden. bright kitchen/diner and beautiful bathroom with amazing shower. great location and faultless hosts. perfect base from which to explore Saffron Walden.

it didn’t bother us, but the stairs are very steep so other guests should be aware.
