GBThe Whins Cottage was a lovely spacious place to stay. It was great that it was so close to the beach and the centre of St Andrews.
It was a little set back from the road, which gave privacy, but made initial unloading from the car a little more difficult than expected.

A few better kitchen utensils

It was impossible to find without help. Thankfully someone answered the phone immediately when I called and stayed with me until I was in the property. The address for the key box was South Street but the property was on North Street. This could not have been more confusing. You definitely needed step by step instructions and/or a map. In addition, I inquired February 14 as to bed size and was told there was 1 King and 1 Double. Both beds were the same size, and there was NO king size bed. We waited the entire rest of the day to hear back from someone before we unpacked and no one ever got back to me. It was difficult to keep the water in the shower without flooding the bathroom? It was hot when we were there making it a little hard to sleep. We could have used fans in the bedrooms.
GBThe location was absolutely perfect—close to everything we needed and with easy access to public transport. Whether it was restaurants, shops, or major attractions, everything was just a short walk away. It made our stay incredibly convenient and enjoyable.
We faced a major inconvenience during our stay due to a malfunction with the power sockets. For an entire day, we had no access to heating, the refrigerator wasn’t working, the cooking hobs were unusable, and we couldn’t charge our phones. This significantly impacted our experience, especially since we were relying on these basic amenities. While the location and overall property were otherwise acceptable, the lack of timely resolution and communication around this issue was disappointing. I hope the management takes this seriously and ensures such problems are addressed more proactively in the future.
