My stay in La Maison-Berbere was an absolutely wonderful and truly authentic experience! I can highly recommend staying with Ismail and his absolutely lovely and welcoming family to everyone! Attending a local wedding, the Taragalte festival, and a family birthday at Ismail's home have been a few very special highlights of my trip. Ismail's family is truly kind and genuine. Thanks to Ismail's help and him driving us everywhere, attending the Taragalte Festival in the desert has been super easy, safe, and fun! Thanks so much for everything!

Our stay in La Maison-Berbère was just magical. The host is beyond helpful and happy to assist you with all your needs. Meals are hefty, homemade and simply delicious. One can choose to sleep either in the room or under the stars on the mattresses taken out upon request. There's ice cold water and fresh fruit available at all times. We also learnt a new card game and could play with the host's kitties. We can strongly recommend the Sahara trip, which in 2025 cost 100 euro per person. The driver, with whom the owner cooperates, is so skilled he should compete in the Dakar rally. During the trip we were taken deep into the Sahara desert, where we spent the night smoking hookah, eating tajine and drinking Moroccan tea. Our stay exceeded our expectations and left a lasting impression.

There's simply nothing we could complain about.

Accueil chaleureux et complète prise en charge. Belle rencontre avec toute la famille. Ralentir au rythme de la vie du désert. Chambre confortable, nuit à la belle étoile et repas délicieux.

Had a fantastic time with Hussein and co. great food, great conversations, great hikes. Made some special memories. Note that the desert treks and tours cost money, but are fully worth it and Hussein is super helpful with organising everything.
