The Palm Private Cottages Midigama

A beautiful stay with a Scandinavian feel – spacious, thoughtfully designed, with a fantastic wardrobe and a large bathroom featuring an open shower. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful, making it very relaxing. The host, Pramith, was incredible – attentive to every detail and always ready to help. Breakfast was lovely, and I especially appreciated the warm welcome from the family and their two friendly dogs, all this made me feel safe and at home as a solo traveller. The property is perfectly located, tucked away from the main road, with a local laundry just a few minutes away. Overall, a faultless stay – highly recommended.

The room was very clean and the host was very kind. Breakfast was delicious and a daily pleasure. I was able to see fireflies around the house every night, which was very relaxing.

The unit was spacious, well furnished, and close to the beach on a quiet road. There was body wash, shampoo, and conditioner stocked which was a nice touch. There was a mini fridge as well. The AC worked well and the bed was comfortable. The host was very flexible, communicative, kind, and helpful.

Very quiet room, new, clean, silent and comfortable, with a private garden and a little outside space to chill.

I rented a bike from them for 1 day and had a small accident; then they said don’t have insurance for the bike and asked for 20k. In Sri lanka, having insurance for all vehicles is mandatory and they can take full money from the insurance company, so this way the bike renters take advantage from the tourist and the insurance. My stay there was nice until this happened, it made leave the country very sad. So be aware if you rent a bike from them, they “don’t have insurance” and if you do it from someone else, ask before renting.

Very nice place

Really enjoyed the stay here, very spacious stylish room with a big bathroom, very comfortable bedsheets. The host is amazing, always was in contact if we needed anything. There was a wide choice of breakfast from Sri Lanka local food to western avocado toast, enjoyed it on our terrace every morning

Beautiful building and very comfortable (bed and AC) as well as super modern and spaceous bathroom. Very nice people and service. Calm atmosphere.

Still too expensive for what you get (70$/night). Breakfast was not very special. No soap, WiFi at first not working (but after asking the host working again immediately), no light bulbs inside the lights next to the bed.

Was not offered tea/coffee or asked if I wanted to order the breakfast available so I didn’t bother.
