The room overall was very nice. It was clean and had some little things like robes and soap. It was a fully-detached little villa, which was pretty cool. I was let in a bit later than my original check-in time.

You can tell it was (is?) a love motel by the credit card machine in the entrance and a few aspects of the interior. I got in at night and the lights weren't working right away, so that kind of sucked. The location is a bit out of the way, so again, at night this wasn't great for being new to the area. In the morning it was a beautiful walk, though. Google maps said it wasn't possible to walk to Takao San, but there is a nice path.

Great location to explore the Takao region. It's not a full service hotel as such, being a former love hotel in the process of conversion, so it does not offer meals or room service, but we were able to obtain food from the local Famima and 7-11 at Takaosanguchi - just 10 minutes way by car. We had a villa - good sized room - with a jacuzzi inside and one on the patio, with chairs and table, which we used for breakfast and evening drinks. Everything was clean, though a little dated. The WiFi worked, well-equipped bathroom, and good parking space close by. Multichannel TV, fridge, kettle, and a huge bed with elevating facility. The room was a little tatty, with some TV cables hanging down, and no chairs or tables, but as a place to base yourself, knowing that you will be out most of the time it was fine. The location was just 2-3 minutes off the express way, down a rather narrow road, so you sometimes had to reverse to let others pass. There were also opportunities to walk nearby. The closest shop is a liquor store a few minutes away, with the only vending machine in the town, and a very expensive restaurant down the road, for which you must book. It worked well for us, and we would certainly stay there again, but you do have to prepare food and drinks in advance. A little bonus was the illuminated ceiling with the planets! Good value for us too!

The room is lacking some essentials, such as chairs and table, and needs a little tidying up. (understand from owner this is on-going).
