Do you love The Hangover movie and wish you could relive the chaos of that 2009 classic? Welcome to the Hotel of Life Lessons, where you quickly learn why spending a little extra on accommodation is worth it, not just for your sanity, but because life is simply too short. Worried about feeling lonely during your stay? Don’t be. A delightful community of ants will happily join you in your slumber, including some of the winged variety. You may also encounter a few spiders and several unidentified creatures that I don’t think have yet been named. ‘’Basic” doesn’t even begin to describe this place. If you’ve ever wondered what the gentle warmth of the depths of hell feels like, this hotel has you covered. The fans bravely attempt to help but mostly just circulate the hot air and only one in your room, somehow it feels cooler outside than inside the room. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless mild torture is part of your holiday plans. Perhaps it’s the mould in the bathroom, the generous gaps in the window frames welcoming in my flying friends, or maybe I’ve suddenly become high-maintenance, but if you’ve already booked, I sincerely wish you the best of luck. You’re going to need it.

The staff were friendly but gave me privacy which is everything I want. The rooms are basic and could do with some upkeep: the shower holder fell out and the netting for the windows had some holes I put sellotape over. But perfectly fine, comfy bed. Clean enough but I did see one cockroach just after I moved in, never again. Great view from the roof.

Some basic upkeep would improve things but all in all great value and location. Hostel across the street can be loud
