The Old Poolhouse

The amount of space was great and the location beautiful. The bathroom was a particular highlight (though the shower operations are the opposite of what you expect because the panel has been installed upside down). The large arch windows are a gorgeous feature and the property was very clean with nice attention to detail. Beautiful ginger cat that came for lots of fuss and cuddles, we adored her and think she’s expecting kittens. We loved the indoor plants but some of them really did need some attention and care. We felt the property offered us a lot of privacy during our stay and we loved that.

Small things but the sofa is more style than substance and not comfortable and both the sofa and the bed are low to the ground which is harder if you have mobility issues. We’d like to have seen kitchen roll and/or tissues provided. Checkin is a bit later than most properties and hotels and although checkout is a standard 11am, the cleaning staff were hovering waiting to get in from 10.45 so felt a bit rushed with no privacy as we left. However Phil who answered our queries prior to arrival was very helpful, friendly and efficient. Edited 3/4/24 to add that the owner is quite correct in their response about the review on cleaning and I have changed that. It doesn't give us ratings out of ten to choose from, just 4 smiley faces and I selected the wrong one. However, in relation to the cleaners, it definitely wasn't other guests checking out. We had two cars which we were packing outside the property which is further down the drive from the neighbouring property. There were two girls hovering the whole time, and coming back and forth around the side fence of the property next to the hot tub and also where our cars were parked to the front of the property. One had a pull along kart-style trolley with products and equipment in and the other was taking the lid off the hot tub before we left.

The location and view were amazing, loved the arched windows and the hot tub is a bonus. The accommodation was clean and had a lot of lovely touches.

The bed was quite low, but it was comfortable.

We were really impressed with the studio it definitely had the wow factor, it was very spacious for the two of us and our dog Charlie We also enjoyed the lovely hot tub and the outside area. Would also like to mention how clean it was both inside and out, we really had a lovely few days at this amazing place.

We were a bit disappointed with the overgrowth along the river as we expected easier access to be able to do some fishing

Amazing location and really easy to find Property is beautiful outside and inside and in a beautiful setting, the decor is stunning Warm and comfortable inside even though it was really cold outside. Hot tub outside is lovely with seating area (for use when weather is warmer)

Some areas needed an extra clean like the inside of the cooker but there were products available to do this.

Thank you for such a wonderful stay. The accommodation was gorgeous and beautifully presented. Stunning riverside location. Couldn't fault and will definitely return.

Other people's food in the fridge and cupboard. Patched up paintwork of different colour, cold unless you used the plug in heaters no TV Ariel
