B&B Le Ortensie

Everything! For some reason I thought the host's name was Francesca and in spite of calling her the wrong name, she still treated me so wonderfully, I felt pampered, safe and happy. It made my entire visit to San Vito Lo Capo one of the highlights of my almost 3-month trip to Sicily/Italy. The place is spotless, bright, airy, close to restaurants, stores, main routes, and of course, the magnificent beach, the lighthouse, Zingaro nature reserve and other highlights. I had reserved my room for 3 nights but hurt my knee and decided to give up on the first night in spite of the expense and I'm so glad I did. My k ee thanked me for it. After my first night, I just loved the place and thought I'd ask if I could stay an additional night and pay for 4 nights and that wonderful woman Dana came back to say not to worry about paying for an extra night..... they'd just switch the payment from the night I missed! I didn't even ask! She also immediately looked after a problem with the caffe that she was using for our breakfasts due to renovations at the B&B. And to top it all, Dana asked me yesterday if I would be interested in "spiced bread" for lunch today, that she would be making the bread herself. Just around lunch time, she tapped on the door and gave me a plastic wrapped package. During my hikes today, I headed to a quiet spot beyond the lighthouse and open my spiced bread, and guess what? She had made this incredible fresh bread stuffed with tuna, ricotta cheese and tomatoes and divided into 3 smaller portions, all wrapped up along with multiple paper napkins! I was blown away! Such an absolutely sweet thing to do.....I don't think even my mother could have done better! There! That should provide you with an idea of how well taken care of you will be if you stay here. Parking was on the street but immediately in front of the property gate.
