V Hotel Vientiane

Buena ubicación y personal muy amable.

Das Hotel liegt mitten im belebten Zentrum und man hat sehr kurze Wege zu den wenigen Sehenswürdigkeiten. Mein Zimmer im 5. Stock hatte Flussblick.

Wie von vielen bereits beschrieben, das "Hotel" ist stark sanierungsbedürftig. Aber Hand aufs Herz, wer länger als 2 Nächte bleibt und mehr als nur etwas zum Schlafen sucht, sollte sich definitiv eine andere Unterkunft suchen. Bagpackerstyle - mehr eben nicht.

I booked the V Hotel for close proximity to the Mekong River in Vientiane for a recent trip to Loas. The hotel boasts a view to across the Mekong River to Thailand. The hotel was comfortable, quiet, had an in house restaurant doubling as en evening food venue (a burger restaurant: I didn't eat at night there, but for those craving Western food, it's an attraction). My room was spacious (a double), clean, with an ensuite bathroom, and I had a balcony view across the river. Close by the hotel was the Night Market, and in the street outside were food/drink options. The Hotel is a 15 minute walk to the centre of Vientiane, with the Presidential Palace 10minutes up the road, and then other Vientiane attractions (e.g. Victory Monument, War Sisaket, Ho Phrakeo Museum ), and further afield for by Tuk-Tuk/taxi to Phi That Luang, Buddha Park etc). Various Breakfast options: buffet/continental and both Asian and Western breakfast options. All in I found this to be a good option for accommodation on Vientiane. Staff were very helpful and also helpful for transportation across the country as there is a travel agency. They also have an airport transport service which I used on departure. Laundry service available. Appeared popular with both Asian and Western travellers. Ramp access for large luggage with a Concierge service, and a reliable (spacious and new) lift/elevator to all floors, close to reception. All in: a good choice mid range hotel. More expensive places around but I found this good value, and good facilities, with helpful, pleasant staff.

Rooms could have had more electricity power points in the room for use: particular near the TV/desk. Only available power points were near the bed. Hopefully fixed on subsequent updates.

The ants and Cockroaches in the room, the smell of moisture, the ants in plates at the breakfast...

The location is very centralised and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable.

Booked for two nights, walked out after the first. As a 3 star I don’t have high expectations but basic cleanness still should be default. My original room was without a window (it is not stated in the room description) and was absolutely moldy and filthy, aircon barely worked. The receptionist kindly gave me another room-this one had a window, the rest was unchanged (on the pictures). The only star I give goes to the receptionist who tried his best.
