"Host completely ignored several suggestions that we be recompensed for the inadequate facilities"

Good location.

No hot water until last morning of two day stay. It was dealt with by the host. Having a bath was not possible.

Nothing - it is an excellent property and a great location. Two lovely pubs near by - Wheat Sheath and Smugglers.
