Oak Shepherds Hut

I stayed in the hazel hut. Everything about the hut and the site has been set up for a wonderful stay. It's comfortable, secluded and has everything needed for a short stay. The woods around the hut are picture perfect and it is well worth following the footpath mown to the stream. I enjoyed all aspects of my stay. Fossil hunting on local beaches, visiting stunning hill forts, enjoying the spring flora. On my last evening I lit up the fire pit and watched the sunset before watching the stars come out as owls hunted in the woods around me. If you want to get away from it all and fill your lungs with fresh air I couldn't recommend this enough.

Beautifully remote location, the shepherds hut had everything we needed for a 2 night stay. Comfortable bed, fridge and the best dawn chorus! Lots of relaxation, sitting in the sun and starry nights. Loved the privacy and no neighbours to worry about. The host supplied tea, coffee and milk which was great, towels and really nice bed linen. Really couldn’t fault anything.

Our stay was everything I hope for and more. I booked 3 nights for my partner's 50th birthday and it was just perfect. When you rent this hut you feel like you have also rented your own private woodland! Completely secluded and peaceful. We could hear owls at night and the dawn chorus was like nothing I had ever heard. Glorious. The hut itself is gorgeous. Spotlessly clean, every tiny thing we needed was there, even a pint of milk in the fridge (even though we'd bought our own). The bed is very comfortable and the shower is great. Weather was very cold at night but the wood-burning stove kept it toasty. Electric heater is great for the chilly mornings. We had a fire outside one evening too. I can't thank the hosts enough, it was perfect. We loved it so much we have booked again.

The location and actual hut itself was amazing! John went above and beyond - even making sure the indoor fire was lit so that the space was warm when we arrive. Amenities are perfect, bed was super comfortable and the outside space was lovely!

This charming shepherd's hut is beautifully decorated and very cosy, with a focus on comfort and functionality. The double bed is comfortable with a wonderful view in the morning. The kitchenette is well-equipped, allowing you to prepare simple meals, and the wood-burner adds a touch of warmth. The scenery and walks were a highlight for us.
