Included in the rate is a 'Sails' Ulva Island Open Sanctuary tour with the following details: - Tours can start early morning or late afternoon - 4 hour return trip - Departs from the accommodations, guests are taken to the water's edge and on a 10-minute boat ride - Guests arrive at Ulva Island open sanctuary and are then taken by the guide on a 0.9 mi easy walk - Guest return via boat back to the accommodations - Tour usually consists of approximately 6 people Please contact Kowhai Lane Lodge for additional information. Please note that the Ulva Island tour is conducted in English only.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. "Nice stay and helpful host."

It was a nice accommodation. Kitchen and living room shared with others. Host knowledgeable about what was going on in Oban and Stewart Island. Trip to Ulva Island was included in the price.

Price a bit expensive and although we enjoyed the visit to Ulva Island some people might want to organise such visit themselves.

A lovely house with views over the water. The hosts are marvellous, very helpful.

It is fine but there is a bit of a walk back up the hill after a meal at the pub.

The hosts at the lodge were amazing. Peter and Iris are a wealth of knowledge and are happy to share information about the island with you. Peter offers a tour of Ulva Island as part of the stay - he was a forest ranger there in the late 60s - and it was very good. It's a beautiful location with excellent views of the bay.

Very comfortable sharing an entire house with other guests The 4-hr-trip to Ulva island led by Peter, a forester, which was included in the price. Operators were very caring making sure you were comfortable and providing a lot of recommendations.
