"Good rural retreat but a little basic for the price."

7.0

Interesting jungle location on top of hill with great view over Ocam Ocam bay and surroundings. Kids loved seeing monkeys and the pet dog and puppy! Staff were lovely.

Very basic accommodation for the price. A bit isolated with quite a walk and climb to and from the beach Pool wasn’t the cleanest with murky water.

"Beautiful location and excellent attention"

9.0

We had a very pleasant stay at OcamOcam Azur Inn. Due to low season we were almost the only guests in the place and thus the atmosphere was very intimate and relaxing. We had a bungalow with sea views and ate breakfast every day while looking at Ocam Ocam beach. The bungalow was simple but comfortable. I really have to stress the excellent attention by all housekeepers, notably Ate Alma and Kuya Mar Mar who were very comforting and helped us out with everything we needed. Thanks a lot for the pleasant experience!

The bungalow was basic and a bit smelly.

"Superb!"

Everything! The room, location, nature and ambiance. If you want to stay in a peaceful, cozy and relaxing place, this is the perfect place for you. Food is also good.

The pool is great but needs some improvement and maintenance.

"A Worthy Stay in Busuanga"

10.0

fascinating location, humble staff, and the way property is taken care of. Presence of Marcel is like an icing on cake with his practical suggestions to make the stay wonderful. The behaviour of staff and their willingness to go out of way to ensure guests feel welcomed is added dimension. Shoot out for Alma for everything she did for us including boat trip booking, taxi, cab, and what not.

Nothing to be not liked about. Suggestions for future guests- please remember this property is not a typical city hotel and has been set in a scenic setting with best of nature and sea views.

"Relaxing tree top escape"

9.0

Martial and Tess have created this beautiful place with a series of jungle-set, boutique huts and hammocks. This is the first place I stayed in The Philippines that had a reliably flushing toilet, a full set of toiletries AND a toilet brush. The bed was comfortable and the wet room shower felt spacious compared to my other stays. I loved the tree top restaurant just next to the pool. The view over the trees and out to the ocean is such a beautiful start to the day with a good breakfast (included) and monkeys for free. You can hear the breaking waves from Ocam Ocam beach more than you'd expect. The whole space has had attention to detail to make it beautiful. The walk to the beach is an easy 10-15 minutes but I spent more time than I expected in hammocks! All the food I tried off the menu was tasty, made fresh and came in a decent portion. Martial and Tess helped me organise various excursions and my airport taxi when I asked. My transport to Ocam Ocam Azur Inn was a motorbike taxi. If happy to chill and spend time at the Inn and beach, you probably don't need transport but if you want to explore locally then some kind of transport is a good idea. In summary this place is incredibly peaceful. Artistic but embedded in nature. Boutique but not fluffy. I stayed for 3 nights and wished I had more.

After 3 weeks in the Philippines, I was used to cold showers so this didn't affect me but I can see that some people would be challenged by this.

"A gorgeous, home away from home with the most welcoming and fantastic hosts"

9.0

Tess and Marshall were the most wonderful, welcoming hosts! I feel like I’ve made two new friends across the oceans. The property is gorgeous, so peaceful with beautiful views and I cannot speak highly enough of my stay there. Also - JB was fantastic. I felt like it was a home away from home and I can’t wait to go back. the boat trip to Black Island was also great and I took the kayak out one afternoon and it was amazing kayaking around the island stopping off at different secluded beaches.

"Tropical hilltop paradise"

9.0

We had a warm welcome from Tess and Marcel, the owners, also their pet dog, Coco. We loved the small and personal space - just five bungalows, a small pool and restaurant that was open from breakfast till late for food and drinks. We loved our balcony as it had views of the sea to the front and side and the most gorgeous sunsets - a bit different every night. You could watch them from the restaurant too. We enjoyed watching the monkeys travelling through the trees. There were beautiful flowers on the walkways.

The bathroom was rustic - a small wet room with just cool water but really that wasn't a problem as we needed the refreshment in the heat. There were a lot of steps as it's on a hill, but that wasn't a problem for us. The staff needed training on how to make cocktails! But it was quite early days in their opening so I'm sure they'll get that in time.

"Great experience due to warm welcoming hosts. We felt like family and would come back in a heartbeat!"

9.0

Amazing, authentic, and personable hosts. Tess and Marshall truly made us feel like family. They are getting things in gear at Azur Inn after COVID setbacks, but they know how to make their guests feel welcome and special. Incredible panoramic 360 views at the restaurant. Attentive staff ready to serve food and drink at your whim. Heated pool worth a good swim with a drink. DEFINITELY order the BBQ pulled pork sandwich while staying… you won’t regret it!! Things to know: - it’s a good 15 min walk to Ocam Beach down the hill. Not bad at all, just be ready for the hike back up. Alternate option is to rent a scooter to make things quick and easy. 20 pesos entry fee to beach (like 50 cents). - no hot water (yet) for showers. not a big deal in the heat of day - not a lot of restaurants/shops nearby… definitely remote area. - credit card IS accepted at hotel for related purchases. Hotel shuttle is paid directly to driver and cash only (exact cash makes things much easier)

"Stunning stay with beautiful views"

10.0

Everything. It’s a little corner of paradise away from the noise and chaos of Coron Town. The bungalows are very comfortable and the place is just beautiful. Martiel and Thess made us feel at home all the time and it was our best stay in the Philippines. It’s the perfect place to relax and wind down.
