Cozy Alpine House

Everything. The layout is great, everything is clean, cooking is easy, everything is new, big bed is a plus.

I couldn’t find a single negative thing.

The mountain view from the entrance door, very cosy and comfortable. A grocery store just 100m away.

Everything was nice and cozy. The place was cleaned and tidy. We definitely recommend this house. Our dogs liked it. Yard was great a lot of free space to play with your pets or kids. Breathtaking views on the mountain peeks.

The only thing that I didn’t like was the mattress in the bigger bed room. It was too soft and pillows as well. That is the only thing that could be changed.

The house was beautiful and well equipped, with a wonderful view. Perfect place for a peaceful stay.

The house is just like on the pictures, it is renovated with style. The owner sent all information in advance and was ready to answer any questions. Everything in the house was logical, we did not miss anything in the 5 days we stayed. Kitchen, bathroom and living room well equipped with games, books, tools, information leaflets, etc. The garden has really a view like on the pictures. Amazing!

Prekrasne okolie, lokalita uzasna, vsade dosupne. Ubytovanie skvele, ciste, prijemne. Majitelia mili a ustretovi. Len pocasie nam velmi neprialo. Vrele odporucam.

I think this house has the best view from any place I've stayed and I've stayed in a lot of mountain places.

The Cozy Alpine House is a wonderful option for those who seek a self-service kind of retreat away from the main tourist locations in Kranjska gora, but still close enough to enjoy them as well should that be your wish. Very clean, furnished with taste. Parking is available on the small patch of gravel in front of the cottage (mind the tight turning radius between the neighbouring embankment and the driveway - car was 4.6m in length and it took some maneuvering) and under the covered open "garage", which we didn't use. Inside, slippers are available at the entrance. There are two bedrooms (1 large and 1 small), a living room, a kitchen with a dining table and a bathroom with toilet. Very cozy for two adults, almost luxurious, but the smaller bedroom could be very tight for more adults. The furnishing is a mix between a modernised "retro" look (e.g. Ikea "vintage" style) and classic alpine style and the only modern appliance missing (since there is no room for it) is a dishwasher. The refrigirator is on the small side, but sufficient, since supermarkets are close by. A freezer is not available though. Cooking is by a gas stove and small oven. (presumably electric, though didn't try it). All the basic utensils for cooking and eating are available, we only had to buy the classic "wooden spoon/spatula" since there wasn't one available. The bathroom includes a washing machine, detergent, plenty of towels and soap / shower gel, more than enough toilet paper and a roomy shower cabin with a classic shower handle but also a waterfall/rain shower head. Should winter show its fangs, or should there be a romantic moment, there is a small wood-burning stove in the living room with firewood provided, as well as a larger one for cooking in the kitchen. There is also a small battery operated vacuum cleaner provided as well as a laundry stand. There is WiFi, a flat screen TV with a working basic Netflix account...

None of the mentioned drawbacks prevented us from enjoying our stay, but I mention them as a helpful insight either for future guests or the owners. One of the biggest drawbacks of the Cozy Alpine House is... there is no way to blind the windows completely, either by outside shutters or indoor blackout blinds. There are only semi-shading curtains available. That means if you have trouble sleeping in a dimly lit bedroom (quite bright on a full moon night), you are out of luck and will also be awake quite early in the morning, as the sunrise begins. And the bathroom, oriented towards the main road, although a bit obscured by the bushes and a screening foil in the center of the large window is a bit less private than most wish, though it didn't bother us as much as the lack of darkness in the bedroom. The second drawback - in the winter months at least - the ice cold stone tile floor in the bathroom. We had to use additional towels laid out on the floor to be comfortable in the evenings. There is no apparent floor heating installed. The third drawback (which we solved quickly with items we had with us and some mix-and-match between bedrooms) is that there are more than enough pillows available but strangely no additional blankets, besides ones available on the beds. There is one couples blanket in the large bedroom and two individual blankets for the two beds in the smaller bedroom and that is all. Now, admittedly, not everyone requires additional blankets over the ones provided, but at least in winter months, it is a bit odd extra blankets are not available, but pillows (we counted 4 besides the 8 on the beds) are.
