I stayed only a short time because unfortunately the accommodation was not as I expected. The room I was given was very small and felt claustrophobic to me. It was located next to the kitchen, so there were cooking smells throughout the day. Privacy was also limited, as the neighboring room was directly in front of mine, and conversations could easily be heard from inside the room. During my stay there was also construction work on the property, which created additional noise. The breakfast was simple and good, and the room itself was clean. However, the overall environment was much noisier than I expected, both from the property and the surrounding area. When I explained that I was unhappy with the room and asked about possible solutions, the communication became stressful. I was eventually offered a partial refund and decided to leave. What disappointed me most was being told to leave the property quickly and being threatened with police involvement if I did not vacate the room, despite trying to discuss the situation respectfully and find an arrangement. I appreciate that a partial refund was ultimately provided, but overall I did not feel welcomed or supported when problems arose. This place may suit travelers looking for a very budget-friendly stay, but if you are sensitive to noise, value privacy, or are looking for a quiet and relaxing environment, I would recommend asking very detailed questions before booking.

Franchement pas grand chose, service deplorable, sale, lugubre, personnel désagréable. La clim fonctionne !

Chambre lugubre, pas d'eau chaude, odeur désagréable, animaux dans la toiture qui vous reveille toute la nuit, personnel tres désagréable, le petit-déjeuner compris c'est du thé ou du café.., il faut impérativement un scooter, moisissure dans la douche, oreillers déplorable, de loin le pire homestay que j'ai fait en indonesie.

We stayed for more than 10 days at Roy Homestay and had a really good time there. The room is really cheap. It’s basic, but it has everything you need. We had cold showers, but with the weather, a hot shower wasn’t really necessary so we were okay with it. The bed is comfortable, the sheets smelled nice, and the room is cozy. The location is really convenient, just a few minutes from the beach and the city centre. You can rent a scooter on-site and book activities. There are warungs nearby, as well as surf shops and grocery stores. The family who owns the homestay is awesome. They are polite, always smiling, and very kind ! I loved the banana pancakes in the morning. Thanks a lot for everything 😊

Wonderful owners and just far enough outside Kuta to avoid noise and steep prices. Crickets at night, good air con, good crowd
