Son Thoi Homestay

I had one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten, all made from scratch by them. The next night I asked if I could help cook and learn and they let me. Then we ate the meal with their extended family and friends. They let me wash my clothes, using their facilities. They were so lovely. The area is right in the bottom of the valley from which you can do so many amazing day walks up into the mountains through the other little villages There were only 5 other guests that stayed there over my 4 nights so you may not meet as many travellers while you stay here.

Son and Thoi are great hosts. It was a pleasure to cook with them our dinner a have drinks with their friends. The neighbour was speaking both English and Vietnamese, easing the conversation.

The family hosting were lovely and very welcoming, they invited us to join them for breakfast on a day of celebration. The property is easy to find and only located a couple minutes away from some good bars and restaurants, in particular Trang Coffee & Bamboo Bar.

Nothing - really worth it if you are looking for cheap accommodation

Leaving the central of sapa to this small village is my best decision. Mrs Thoi and mr Son are the best hosts. They treat you with all hospitality they have and everything in their house. Its not promised that you will have a “professional” service with fancy decoration but an authentic local life is right here. btw the neighbor dogs are really cute and gentle. The home is next to a stream and paddie field so you can have a great view whenever you want. Thanks Sơn Thời so much you guys left in me an unforgettable memories in my trip to all over Vietnam

Amazing local family, super friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for a real local experience, this is the place for you. The owners have a small farm, with vegetables, chickens and pigs, it was really an amazing experience. The room was very comfy. Chi Thoi (the owners wife) checked in on us every day, asking what she can do to give us a better time at their family house. It was just lovely to experience this family. The homestay is close to the river, so in the evening you can see a beautiful sunset over the Fansipan mountain. I can recommend this to everyone looking for an authentic local experience. Thanks so much to the family that hosted us.

The homestay was perfect for what I was looking for. 1 cheap bed with breakfast included, located in a peaceful and semi remote area. Besides the language barriers, I was able to communicate with the owners, which are very local and super kind. I definitely recommend this place if you are travelling on a budget trip and you want to have a close local experience with the people living in this village. I arrived here in the early afternoon, and I spent a few hours at the river recovering from the ha giang loop. Had a great sleep. The only thing I was able to hear was the sound of the river. Thank you, Chi Thoi and Anh Son, for having me there. Hope to go back one day soon.
