Cozy House Gulebi

A clean, cozy house with a view of the mountains. The opportunity to do hiking. That's all.

From the very start, communication with the hosts was odd. When we asked for the cottage’s address, we were given only a generic pin for the village. When we asked to clarify the location for a driver, the reply was simply “Gulebi village.” We had to guess the exact spot ourselves while hauling heavy luggage. Upon arrival, we discovered that the woman who met us spoke neither English nor Russian, even though those languages were listed on the cottage page. That evening we decided to take a bath on the balcony (there are many good reviews about this particular feature of the house), but the tub wouldn’t fill. The next day we messaged the hosts about the issue, and their “solution” was to plug the drain with our plastic bag. Bathe with a bag! - and even that didn’t help. We tried to fix the problem ourselves, but it didn’t work. When we wrote again, we received: “Understood. The plumbing used to work. Perhaps previous guests broke it. The technician isn’t working today; it’s our day off. We apologize. We can offer you a free night tomorrow.” This wasn’t relevant, as our vacation dates were fixed in advance. We asked for another solution and were ignored. When we checked out, they called us blackmailers and said they wouldn’t do anything. We weren’t asking for money; a small gesture would have been enough - a plate of fruit or the complimentary breakfast described as included but never provided. We explained our view as a mismatch between the services and what’s clearly stated in the booking listing (the balcony tub is listed separately from the bathroom and shower). Their response was: “There is a bathroom and water, as described.” At checkout, the same woman took the keys with a smile, pretending there had been no problem. We no longer had the energy or desire to pursue it. Additionally, there was no sense of privacy. While we were lying in the hammock, a man was walking around his garden 15–20 meters away, looking at the neighboring houses - and at us as well.

The stay in villa in middle of the serene mountains with mesmerizing views was exceptional. The facilities were good and it was very calm and silent place for the stay. The hostess and her husband were very nice and made very nice arrangements. Recommended place for a peaceful holiday. Thanks a lot.
