Peaceful Riverfront cottage in small northland town

The cottage was clean and comfortable, we chose the location away from the town for a couple of quiet nights in a small rural town.

Unfortunately the host who owns the 4 bedroom house next door as well as the one we rented had rented to 12 young men who had come down from Auckland to party and the neighbours up the road decided it was a great night for loud music. Our host said she did a drive down the road to see if she could do anything . We just picked the wrong weekend for a quiet retreat..

I loved the morning setting looking over the river and enjoying breakfast with my family.

When we arrived the place was in excellent condition the home had a lovely feeling and the house was so relaxing. It was definitely a peaceful place to stay. I will definitely recommend this to others.

Lack of heating, not the best neighbourhood, no doors on bedrooms

Lovely location

In the property description there was no mention of a television, because there isn’t one! Also no mention of a lounge suite because there is only outdoor cane furniture. Dirty towels in the bathroom waa also not a highlight. Do not stay at this property with young children, garden is very dangerous with steep unfenced drop.

Nice & quiet.

No information left in the cottage. We didn't know the WiFi code as it was emailed to us on the day of arrival & we were on the road. Should have been sent the day before.

Basic but comfortable apartment with stunning lake view. Very peaceful location. Very responsive host. Quite strange not having doors on the bedrooms and I do think this would make a big difference as the fridge/freezer was noisy and a green light from the kitchen could be seen
