The blanket on the bed

This was by far my least favorite night spent away from home. We arrived on a rainy night and could only access our room through an open balcony, leaving us to walk with our luggage on wet tiles and having our luggage get wet in the process. We received an already opened bottle of water in our kitchenette. There was a loud noise for what felt like every 30 minutes during our stay, it would give us a fright when we were awake and when we were asleep. This noise could not be ignored or gotten used to. Gaining access to the parking area was unpleasant due to us not having a remote of our own to open and close the gate. We would have to ring the bell and wait for the receptionist to open and close the gate for us, this was an overall inconvenience, as it was raining at the time. The grouting of the shower was so dirty that we decided to rather skip on the wash. The basin tap runs like a sprayer, making it unavoidable to use this area without making a mess. We appreciated the heater, however had to struggle with using the heater, bed side lamp and TV at the same time. When we switched the heater on, all three above-mentioned electronics would just switch off and on, multiple times during the evening. I'm afraid to say that the only thing I enjoyed about my stay was the thick blue winter blanket supplied on the bed. I was disappointed to hear that this was a 4 star guest house when the stay was giving a 2 star quality service.
