Stunning park view Quartermile apartment close proximity to Castle University

The apartment itself was great - fantastic view of The Meadows, the huge windows made sun rise amazing and the tub for a long soak was a life saver after days of walking! We were so happy there was a lift as well because the booking on Expedia said there wasn’t. There are some very cool restaurants/bars in the area which were fun to visit! The bus stops are nice and close and the great thing is they take you everywhere- even out to the country! A few things to mention: the beds should probably be upgraded to something a little firmer so you don’t feel like you’re going to roll off the side if you get too close to the edge and the mattress pads didn’t fit so they kept sliding off the mattress. You might also want to put a warning somewhere in the bathrooms that the metal towel warmers are always on and hot as they are VERY close to the toilets. I would also suggest to leave some cleaning products on site so if guests want to clean up after themselves they can. The only real negative I have is the smell we encountered after we entered the doors to where the lift is - most days it smelled like a gross fish market or a gross garlic smell. While I realize you can’t control what other people cook, I would suggest some sort of air freshener in that area.

The location was great, sofa was comfortable.

The Toilet In one of bathrooms did not work and then was intermittent.

Loved the park proximity, easy walkability to various places, quick responses to our questions and need for support, and the comfortable decor and beds. Needed one more bed to accommodate our family - but were able to make it work. Delightful stay. Thank you.

The flat is perfectly located for Edinburgh University and it’s very easy to walk everywhere in the city. The key collection was easy and instructions on the flat comprehensive. There’s a Sainsbury’s as well as a few nice eating places and a carpark you can rebook close by. The flat was warm and hot water plentiful.

The beds weren’t very comfy and slightly thicker duvets for winter would be good plus another saucepan and baking tray would be quite useful, but overall it was all fine for a short stay.

Location and accommodation size were superb. Fabulous view.

We were visiting my daughter who is studying in Edinburgh and the location couldn't have been better. Just a short cab ride from Waverley and so convenient for local restaurants and to see some of the sights. The modern apartment with lift access was ideal for my parents who would struggle with all the stairs in most of the other Airbnb tenement flat type alternatives. Large and roomy apartment and a stunning view over The Meadows was the icing on the cake. The hosts were approachable and attentive.

The large corner sofa was very squishy and hard for older people to get out of! It would have been helpful to have a bit more info on what was in the apartment, especially the kitchen. We weren't sure there were going to be such comprehensive cooking facilities and if I had known there is a cafetiere I would have brought my own coffee. There is a pod coffee machine, but again we didn't know what type to bring supplies, or that there would actually be pods provided.

I had a very disappointing experience with this host. After leaving an honest one-star review mainly due to the host being rude, I received a private message on WhatsApp and a text message from them that was not only unprofessional but also personally insulting. Instead of addressing my concerns or even asking for feedback constructively, the host attacked my character and made inappropriate assumptions about me as a person. I believe everyone has the right to share their experience honestly without being subjected to personal attacks. The host’s behavior in response to my review has only reinforced my concerns and made me feel uncomfortable. This is not the level of professionalism or respect I would expect from a property host. Please have some respect for your guests and don’t talk to them like they’re a child.
