Blue Beach Motel Providence North Kingstown

Seemed to be newly renovated.

The color temperature of the lights was horribly cold, impossible to feel comfortable. Hot water only after several minutes.

My review is actually an 8.5 but I'm rounding up as my pros outweighed my cons. Staff were very nice and personable. Had a lovely talk with the owner. Room was very clean and spacious with a decent size fridge/freezer, desk, phone, and microwave. King bed was very comfortable, the wife and I both slept great. The mattress is on the firmer side; so if you're a soft mattress fan, be advised. Air conditioner kept the room nice and cold during a very hot, humid day (we like it to nearly snow in the room). There's a brewery that serves breakfast on weekends immediately next to the motel. If you show them your keycard, you'll get 5% off. There isn't much nearby as far as restaurants go.

These are very minuscule, nit-picky things but negatives nonetheless. The lighting wasn't great. One major overhead and 2 sconces in the bedroom that were harsh LED with a blue hue. The room didn't feel well lit unoess you lift the shade. Migraine city. The bathroom had a light as part of the vanity mirror, but, same thing in the sense that it didn't actually give any light to help you get ready. The king bed only had 3 pillows. We all know hotel pillows suck, so to only have 3 on a king bed is psychopath behavior. Am I supposed to share 1.5 pillows with my wife? Girl, no. Thankfully, we brought our own otherwise we'd be SOL. Lack of mirrors. The room is very spacious, so they'd benefit by placing a full-length mirror in the room, otherwise the only one is the vanity. The bathroom didn't have a hair dryer, conditioner, or lotion, which are simple amenities that one expects. My advice is to bring your own travel shower products. The shampoo wasn't great. Would've liked to have a bottle of water in the room. Lastly, we found 2 bugs in the room- a spider and grasshopper. There's gaps where the floor and door to the room meet so just be mindful on that because I'm sure that's where the unwelcome guests came from. Again, these things are miniscule and nit-picky, but I paid approx. $250 for one night (post taxes), which isn't cheap for a motel. For that price, I would expect some of these amenities to be included.

The room was clean, staff were friendly and accommodating and it was conveniently located for our purposes.

Everything is brand new and very clean. Staff is nice, friendly and responsive. Good location.

It's so on minimalist side that becomes not very comfortable. In our room we didn't find any space to hang our wet staff (a towel and swimsuits) to dry after the beach where we stopped on the way. A rack for hangers was super short, no hooks or even a second chair. But the AC in the wall was disproportionally large for the room, and made loud noise at night.
