Conveniently situated within a mile of city centre Comfortable apartment Shower was good Heating worked well we kept this on low Easily accessible key and lock system A lift available as apartment on 6th floor. Stairwells were clean.

I was reminded by the owner that Booking.com took their cut and so the money we had paid for the apartment was appropriate I should be mindful of that. 😬😳 The property was unclean - we bought cleaning products ourselves as there were none available , and cleaned the property ourselves so that we felt comfortable staying. No privacy in kitchen/sitting room- no blinds or curtains available. Some unsavoury characters hang outside often asked for money. We felt unsafe at times as the main door could be pushed open easily. The apartment below us seemed to have some issues there was often arguing heard during the night time hours. Shower door needed fitting to lower rail in the main bathroom. Oven needed cleaning. The bin had a fresh black bag in it but there were food remnants underneath this. The iron seemed to leak when water was added for the steam mode.

The kitchen was small but modern, new fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. And the lift was essential. The bedding and towels clean. Good underground heating, no radiators. There is an excellent street 5 minutes walk with dozens of cafes, shops and restaurants.

The living room wall beside the broken clock had food splatter up the side of it. The toilet seat was so loose it almost came off, and it was disgusting with urine stains that we needed to clean ourselves. The bathroom walls had running stains down where the toilet roll holder is. The navy sofa had a lot of stains on it. The lift smells awful and the area is so loud, and little space for parking. With the carpet, none of the bedroom doors close completely, they will slightly stay open. As well as all this, we paid the £300 security deposit, and on the day following checkout I got charged an additional £300. There was no email to advise this. I queried this and their team member told me “if you check in too early this happens and you get double charged, we recommend 2-3 days prior”. I checked in the day before, which contradicted their advice. When I contacted Booking.com customer service, the accommodation team released the first deposit, instead of the duplicate. Which means I will need to wait another 7 days for the most recent one to be returned. Terrible customer experience.

Being in the student area it is close to restaurants and bars so it's not far from places to go.

It is in a true student area lots of graffiti and the building looks a bit tired, a few buildings in the street were being renovated and had skips or piles of rubbish outside. It was very windy during our stay and some of the rubbish was blown around the streets. The front door and key press wouldn't lock. The bathroom had quite a bit of mould on the wall and the fittings look a bit tired. The bedroom had a peculiar smell, not sure what it was, maybe a little damp and the bed wasn't that comfortable. The neighbours were a little noisy comming in at night but not unbearable.

The flat is on a very dodgy street across the road from a homeless shelter. Lots of litter everywhere and just not the nicest part of the Queens Quarter. There was a lot of noise at night and the street didn’t feel safe. The flat needs a deep clean and updating/redecorating. The bathroom with the toilet is dirty and mouldy and unpleasant to use. The key box is a shambles, as described in many of the reviews. Parking is a nightmare as hardly any spaces available. Very little cutlery and the cookware is all in need of updating. Having no curtains in the main living room left us very exposed.
