USThe fact that Casablanca doesn’t have a solid, untarnished 10 star review average is a mystery to me. From the breathtaking views from my bedroom window, to the reliable hot shower, delicious home-cooked food, this homestay deserves the highest of praises. However, Viet, the owner, is the absolute man! He goes above and beyond for his guests in every conceivable way. This morning, he got up early on my behalf to escort me to the trailhead for Sa Mu Peak, and checked up on me when I got caught in a flash flood, alone, 11 kilometers into a 22 kilometer trek. He’s a wealth of knowledge, a pleasure to be around, and takes the time to get to know each and every one of his guests personally. He is a legend!

VNExtremely generous host. The room has a large heater/radiator for cold weather and warm comforters (it was cold in late March). The staff cooked a huge meal for me (I was the only guest) and they invited friends. The food and company were lovely. Unfortunately the room was having some electrical issues, so I only stayed one night instead of the 2 planned. The owner was very helpful and understanding that I asked to check-out early. The weather was cold, rainy, and very foggy, so I didn’t get to view the dinosaur spine, but if I come back, I would stay here again. The price is competitive with other places in the area, and their rooms are nicer than a few I checked out in person.
