Serene Property Next to Southampton General Hospital

Very clean, good security and good facilities. Good location for early morning hospital appointment. Well stocked kitchen. Very good towels.

Shower was a bit wobbly, but I got there in the end. Thin walls. WiFi nowhere to be seen, despite a message to the owner, not a huge problem though with 4G.

Breakfast not provided. Property very clean. Very easy access to hospital which was the most important thing for me.

TV didn’t work. Message appeared on screen to say WiFi wasn’t compatible which was very poor in my view. I think single bed could have been bigger. Heating in room didn’t work - again, not great for mid-October. Kitchen should have had a blind or similar. I could have felt very visible. I didn’t think it was appropriate to ask me to leave my shoes by the front door band wear very basic slippers. Complied but carried my shoes into the bedroom.

I’m giving a lower rating because the listing could be clearer about the shared facilities — there is 1 shared bathroom and 2 toilets for 4 rooms. Another issue we experienced was with the heating, which was turned off around 10:00 pm and only came back on around 6–7 am, making the night quite uncomfortable. In addition, the TV in the living room was not working, nor was the TV in the room we stayed in.

It has everything you need for either just 1 night stay or for the whole week. Clean and comfortable. Very close to Southampton hospital and a fairly large convenience store.
