Homely Apartment in Harlow

Disappointing rental of 7 weeks

I had a short 7 weeks contract with the local hospital and this apartment was the only one available on the market. Harlow has very few options for short term. The apartment is about 20 min walk from the hospital. It is in a Council building,the common area and the stairs smell of a cellar,nobody has cleaned ,dubious people entered, renovation was done by the council to the neighbor apartment and there were 4 weeks of noise ( drilling,etc) ,Lauderdale music at night and during the weekend. The " homely" apartment was not so home away from home. The mattress was broken,the owner changed it but took 10 days to get a new one. This was new but cheap and not at all comfortable. The apartment is not thermic isolated and it was tremendous humidity . I had to spray with anti-mold often and to buy dehumanizing items as it was not provided. There are many basic things missing that I had to buy out of the pocket. I was only happy with the washing machine. This apartment is very expensive for the 2-3 stars comfort that offers. If you are having mobility issues this is not for you, there are very hight ,steep stairs to the second floor and no lift. I was disappointed.

Very helpful and communicative host gave a very positive experience. Convenient acceptable size and layout.

Slightly Noisy neighbours upstairs with music and banging all hours. Bed linen didn't feel very fresh. No iron but could of asked the host to double check.

Very friendly host who was understanding and approachable. The property was cozy, neat & clean. The kitchen had everything I needed.

May be a need for a latch in the bathroom from inside

Nice and peaceful. Overall, house was clean and well kept.

The bedroom was colder than the other areas in the house as the radiator did not work.
