We had by far the best homestay experience ever! Fluffy, Theresia and Andrea were incredible hosts - it felt that we were treated as family more than guests. We shared great conversations and a very nice dinner with the family, and Fluffy was so kind to give up his time to show us around in Ruteng Pu’u. There were many things to like, including beautiful elevated spot, clean room and own bathroom in family home, attached to pre-school.

I really liked the couple that runned the homestay. They are lovely people with really good hearts. They gave us the best coffee from their own plantation and gave us a lot of tips for sight seeing around ruteng. These people are the reason I love homestays; you may have less luxury compared to a hotel, but you will have a far better experience in a homestay.

The bathroom could have a upgrade like warm water, but the hostess was willing to boil warm water for you

This is a wonderful place to spend the night in this cold and damp city. A nice family, where you feel as comfortable as possible. The owner and her daughter constantly offered coffee. The owner Fluffy entertained with conversations. All family speak English very good. There is no hot water in the shower, but the owners will make you as much boiling water as you need to be happy. The room is clean, bright, comfortable for two people, an excellent clean bathroom. We asked to have dinner at their house, for which the owner (for an additional fee of 40,000 rupees per person, which is more than comfortable) prepared a delicious and varied dinner. Breakfast was with coffee and very tasty local buns. I spent a great night in a family that loves their business and their home. The house is far from the center, which is good - it is clean, quiet and there is no noise from cars. This is one of my best stays in Indonesia. I sincerely recommend it if you find yourself in Ruteng.
