GBGreat location, warm, peaceful.
Hot tub freezing on arrival. 11.8 degrees didn't get to use which was disappointing . Bathroom skirting needs paint touch up. Invest in some nice new white bedding.

GBWe had a lovely stay here, such a peaceful and cosy location. The Annex has complete privacy, separate to the main house. Located a 5 minute drive from the main centre (best taxis we used were Cumbria Taxis, cash only) around a 20-30 min walk - sadly public transport was poor. The room was lovely and clean, with 3 towels each provided, light and simple decor. A smart TV is something we really appreciate so we were very pleased with it. Even the dimmer switch main lighting was appreciated! The kitchen had all the pans/glasses/cutlery we needed as well as plastic for the hot tub. The hot tub is perfect for the venue. Skylight covering, 2 closed sides - simple instructions and kept clean. We took bath robes and flip flops which I’d recommend - particularly the flip flops for an easy throw on going over the pebbled area. It overlooks the garden and a fast flowing river, spotted a robin or 2 - perfect depth to keep us fully covered while we relaxed. We visited the centre for food and drinks - nice drinks at Arturo Lounge, The Fell Bar, Board and Elbow, The Dockray Arms and of course a ‘spoons - The Dog Beck. Had ‘Brush and Tipple’ night at Arturo Lounge, and were well fed at Chapter 12 for breakfast, some cakes from Crafty Baker and dinners at Arturo Lounge cocktails/flatbreads&burgers, Xaviers wine/tapas with our Anniversary dinner at Four & Twenty - not a single place disappointed. Four & Twenty was just delicious. Hosts were accommodating, dropped us a message asking if we needed anything which was nice. Parking arrangement worked well and was very spacious. I’d definitely recommend a stay here and hope we can come back in the future.
With the annex size, it can get a little humid after showers- I’m not sure how it could be fixed - maybe a dehumidifier? Regardless, it didn’t impact our stay, simply something that crossed our mind.
GBI really enjoyed my stay. The location is beautiful. It's conveniently near Penrith for supermarkets etc, but I was able to drive to Grasmere, Ambleside, Windermere and Keswick during my 3-night stay. The hot tub was lovely - it is quite close to the house, but the owners keep the blinds shut so it is private, and is for private use for guests while they are staying. I liked the self check-in process because I didn't need to worry about arriving at a certain time. I felt safe there as a woman travelling alone. The owners sent detailed instructions for finding the property, and using the hot tub.
A tiny thing, but the shower head doesn't fit in the holder, which made it a bit awkward to use.
GBRiverside Annex was so relaxing, wasn’t bothered by the owners.
