Hotel Caimán Hábitat Tulum Beach

I recently stayed at Caimán Habitat, and while the rooms were as pictured, clean, comfortable, and nicely designed (though the pillows could use an upgrade), the overall experience was disappointing. Overall, this place might be fine if you're okay with a self-service, Airbnb-like setup, but I expected more since it’s advertised as a “luxury” hotel on their website. Better service and proper security would make a big difference. For now, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a true hotel experience.

The biggest issue was the lack of service and staff. When we arrived, there was no one from the hotel to greet us. Instead, someone from the restaurant next door handed us the key and showed us to our room. When we asked him a few questions, he mentioned he didn’t work for the hotel and was just helping out as a favor. There was also no security. One day, I noticed a group of people in the cenote located on the property, and one of them approached me to ask where the bathroom was. When I asked if they were staying at the hotel, he said no.

Cleanliness could be improved

Loved the area and the staff were very accommodating. Some surrounding buildings are still under construction, but Caimán Hábitat is going to be even better very soon. My stay was great and they were attentive on WhatsApp. I highly recommend this place. Sushi restaurant on-site is top notch too. Close to the beach and other restaurants. We ate at Holy Deer every morning here.
