New Starlight Hotel Lovina

A convenient location on the beach near the village of Lovina. You can walk along the beach into town instead of taking the road. There are several warungs and cafes along the way. This is an area still lived in by locals and not highly developed for tourists. You get a feel for the real Bali. The lodging at the Starlight are two rows of little detached villas, with a sidewalk between them and a pool at the end. Some of the landscaping is labeled so you can learn about the trees they have planted, which is something I am interested in. 

The facilities are a bit rundown and unkempt. It appears that the Starlight hotel was a quality development at one point in the past, but may have fallen on hard financial times since Covid. It needs a lot of maintenance and upgrading to merit a better rating. The staff on site were helpful while we were there, but a request I sent through Booking.com messaging the day before was never answered. I was wondering if anyone would be there when we showed up. My wife and I, in fact, were the only guests at the hotel.  there were jewelry and clothing hawkers walking up and down the beach and persistently trying to sell us stuff. I don’t mind it if they take no for an answer and move on. But some of them were very persistent, which is annoying. 

Breakfast was good and the staff where great

When we booked the accommodation offered a TV with cable which wasn't included when we arrived, the pool was dirty and we couldn't use it but was given another pool which we could use which was a small walk away. Breakfast and the staff where great no complaints there. The bungalow was run down and needed work doing toilet seat broke, cupboard door didn't close properly and the door to the property didn't feel secure when locked.

This is a humble little Hotel which meets all basic needs. The bungalow was clean, the bed big & comfy, the pool looked great & the Hotel was situated right on the water. They were very accommodating with Breakfast for me as I am Vegan. The staff were lovely but unfortunately a little too overextended because of staff cuts. They did an amazing job & were always very kind & would do anything for you. I throughly enjoyed my stay as it was quiet & a little bit away but within walking distance to many restaurants, shops etc. Would definitely stay again.

Because of staff cuts the poor people that were working there were a bit run of their feet. They did an incredible job though. Always very kind & would do anything for you. This is a simple hotel, right on the, water so I would definitely visit again.

The hotel is located on a very quiet spot right on the beach. Easy to grab a boat for snorkeling and to go see the dolphin. The service is super good. The swiming pool is deep enough to dive into it. Very relaxing stay

HUGE room for the price paid, located directly at the beach for easy access to the dolphin tours.

Food wasn’t particularly good, so we preferred to eat outside, TV didn’t work. The whole place looks a little abandoned.

The room wasn't clean, there were lizards inside, worm, spiderwebs. The kettle in the room was also dirty. The food was average. "Beach" and restaurant outside was unkempt (maybe it looks better in the high season but no in November).
