Lotus Jewel Forest Camping

The property is a true jewel.. yet to come. Unfortunately we got at the location whilst renovation was ongoing so didn’t have the chance to enjoy the isolated location but rather had constant noise. Also the hut is way too basic: no door, dirty sheets and blankets and in general not so nice in those conditions. I am although sure that it will be beautiful once finished, but would have been nice to know

Staff is amazing, really friendly and accommodating

magnificent place completely immersed in nature. the wooden houses are characteristic and have all the basic comforts to have an excellent stay. the terrace open to nature is spectacular, you can spend hours in that place. The food is particularly good from breakfast to dinner

Une chouette adresse au milieu de la nature. Nous avons passé 4 nuits dans ce petit coin tranquille aux portes de la forêt. Sajanlal a été très accueillant & est en plus un bon cuisinier, chaque jour il nous a fait découvrir de nouvelles spécialités du Kerela : nous nous sommes régalés ! Son chien Kingnee est tout à fait adorable, sa présence est très appréciée ! Les cabanes sont basiques mais tout à fait confortable (matelas, douche chaude commune etc). Cet endroit permet de prendre son temps & déconnecter. Nous aurions prolonger notre séjour avec grand plaisir. C’était très agréable de se poser & se reposer, profiter de la terrasse en regardant les animaux passer. Chaque soir une trentaine de biches passaient devant notre cabane (et si vous avez de la chance il est même possible de voir des éléphants). L’emplacement est parfait : au calme - à qqls minutes en tuktuk de la ville - à 10min du Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary. Aussi, comme le terrain est à l’entrée de la forêt il est clôturé & un garde est présent pendant la nuit donc tout est bien sécurisé. Nous hésiterons pas à revenir dans ce petit coin de paradis si l’occasion se présente. D’autant plus que Sajanlal va effectuer quelques améliorations pour la prochaine saison (hamac, yoga, etc).

Location was so beautiful…stay was fabulous…service of Sajanlal was awesome.He treated us very well in friendly manner…His cocking, way of talking , presentation of the food all were so good.

Washroom can make in little better ways

The experience of staying in a wooden lodge with views and sounds of the jungle felt surreal. Perfect place to book a stay for 2. The sound of nature and views of animals, mostly deers during the evening and night time were amazing. Amazing non-veg food offered by cook. The chapatis weren’t that great but the host (Mr. Sajan Lal) was kind enough to not charge for it. Overall, an awesome and economic stay for someone looking to stay around nature with a kind and empathetic host.

The location is a bit remote but can be reached easily if you have your own vehicle. In any case, the host will help you. The cook has less experience making chapatis. Would recommend getting food from outside if you’re vegetarian.
