Holbrook Bed and Breakfast

Room was very clean, with every detail very well thought. Breakfast was delicious in a peculiar room. The host is very clear and good hearted.

I loved that the property felt really homely and was so comfortable. The bedspread was even the same as I have at home. We had everything we needed and the bed was so comfortable. The lady who owned it was absolutely lovely and so sweet. She spent her time talking to us and made sure we were comfortable. She put the heating on to make sure we were warm enough and her breakfast was delicious. I want to go and stay there again just to visit her. A really lovely lady who made you feel extremely welcome.

The location was perfect for travelling in local area and there was even a petrol station opposite!

I stayed in the single room, the bed was comfy. The room generally needed a bit of TLC as did the shower cubicle

The breakfast room was clean and well presented. The bedroom was clean and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. I was shown to my room and asked if I had enough drinks on the tray, what time I would like breakfast and how I would like it.

No reply to my telephone calls or text messaging service through the links online. Therefore, I went directly to The Holbrook when I arrived, and there was no reply, I knocked and additionally pressed the 'Ring Door Bell' My friends called at the Holbrook on their journey home from the event to be told they had received my message and knew I was coming. It's a shame they didn't reply to my message! Additionally, I was ill in the night with a fever and sickness. As they we're expecting me for breakfast, I sent them a text message explaining my predicament and that I wouldn't need breakfast. There was no response. I received a telephone call at 10.10 am asking me if everything was OK. I said I'd just woken up and had they seen my text. The answer was no. I explained what had happened and was told the cleaner needed to come in as the room was let out again that day. I would say that when I opened the curtains I was shocked by the disarray in the garden. As I walked downstairs the carpet was filthy and there was a really strong doggy odour. Needless to say, it was a really bad experience for me. Additionally, even leaving there is difficult, apparently its an area that "Taxi's don't really like to pick up from" That was the last thing I wanted yo hear! However, I was given a taxi firms telephone number to call by the lady at The Holbrook and an amazing lady driver arrived 10 minutes later.
