Southern Charm in Lakeland

Loved the location for what we needed in Lakeland. Food, shopping, and other needs all close by. Very clean and comfy setup in the house. Great yard out back.

Nothing that jumps to mind. We had no issues during our stay.

The host !!! Probably was a mix up in booking this house !!! Remind you two days before it was time to stay. I did not like the way the host was talking to me. She was very biased so I wanted my money back in a refund I bid and pleaded this lady Melissa would not give back the money or try to come to a reasoning point for this stay she also was very angry that I was using my mobile discount and my genius level which I am at 6 now from staying at 47 properties on booking I have never once had a bad complaint!!! or in my life had anyone ever handle me and my family the way that Melissa did! I was advised by booking to try to reason with her if this lady just would not understand!! I never got the $312 back plus I had to rebook to stay somewhere else! There was definitely no southern charm here as far as the property I never even made it there!

Location was good, and the decor is cute.

The house is very old and needs maintenance. The walls are soft, and the electric socket comes out of the wall. The owners are rude and complain about us using the towels and blankets as if we shouldn't have. The AC is controlled outside of the house, so they turn it up constantly in the middle of the night and won't go down enough to make the house comfortable. The owner also complained that we turned the AC down to 70 and why would we do that. (It's 95 degrees out, that is why) The owner tries to accuse you of breaking something to try to keep the security deposit, argued with me via text about something that we didn't even touch. It's weird I had to send the deposit through a 3rd party instead of bookings.

This property exceeded our expectations. We're used to renting properties over hotels for vacations and have been disappointed in the amenities and the equipping of the kitchen. Sweet Southern Charm has this property well stocked with books, games and puzzles for children and adults. The kitchen was well equipped to cook anything you want from a simple sandwich to a gourmet meal. The backyard is fenced in and large for our dog to run and play. The pet fee is very reasonable. The house is nicely decorated and very clean. This property is close to supermarkets and restaurants, some within walking distance.
