Little Hideaway Home Stay

The property was a close walk into town and also up a hill and away from the noise. The owners were the loveliest people so warm and inviting, always smiling and helpful. They helped us get tuk tuks and a private car to Arugam bay at very reasonable prices. Their hospitality was fantastic even with their language barrier and the Sri Lankan breakfast was our favourite so far on our trip. We highly recommend staying there.

The only down side was a damp smell in the room ven though it’s very ventilated and clean, however we would still stay with them if we had the chance.

We spent three nights at Little Hide away Guest home and were thoroughly impressed. The location is central yet wonderfully quiet, as the guesthouse is tucked away in a side street, well shielded from traffic noise. We stayed in the larger room as a group of three. It was recently renovated, spotlessly clean, and tastefully furnished. Each bed had a mosquito net and a comfortable mattress, we slept very well. The bathroom was modern, very clean, and equipped with everything you need. There was always hot water available, and even a hairdryer was provided. A highlight was the small private balcony where we could enjoy our breakfast each morning. The breakfast itself was lovingly prepared and especially convincing due to the fresh fruit selection. The hosts were incredibly warm and helpful. They were always available with advice and support, making our stay even more enjoyable. We felt completely at home and would come back anytime. Little Hide away Guest home is a place we can fully recommend!

Relaxed place on a good location. Away from the street, but close enough for walking everywhere within 10 mins. Owner was very welcoming and breakfast is tasty and great value for money.

Wifi was not very good, but that was not a big problem for us.

Everything was great. Where do I even start?! Best location, close to the centre but tucked away in a calm little street. The room was just beautiful, spacious, looked brand new. Came with its own terrace with a wonderful view of Ella Rock. This was the perfect place for breakfast, watching squirrels play in the surrounding trees. The breakfast was just amazing, diverse and very generous. But most of all, the host family was just to friendly, kind and welcoming. They helped with all my questions, my laundry etc. There are many accommodation options in Ella and it took me a long time to decide, but I couldn't have made a better choice. Warmly recommend!

Hosts were lovely and good on the communication. The room was lovely and brand new. Facilities and amenities were excellent and all in good working order. 5 minute stroll into the middle of Ella town. Beautiful view of Ella’s rock from bedroom. All in all, a fantastic stay and would certainly recommend.

To get to the property there is a 150m climb up a bit of a hill. Not unbearable for those fit but those with mobility issues should keep in mind as a tuk tuk would be needed to get in and out. However worth it for the view.

This place exceeded our expectations. The view is absolutely breathtaking – especially from the rooftop, where the owner kindly takes guests to enjoy the stunning mountain scenery. Breakfasts are generous and delicious, prepared with care and full of flavor. The room is equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable stay – a kettle, tea, WiFi, hairdryer, and more. There’s also a laundry service available on-site, which is a great convenience. The hosts are incredibly kind, helpful, and always open for a friendly conversation, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.

Although very close to Ella center, the property is located on top of a very steep road. The shower was not very hot.

This place has the nicest people you will ever deal with! I had to leave before 3AM in the morning for a tour, they woke up just for me and had my breakfast ready to go. It was super early and also still dark, the lady came to walk me to my bus, I had to insist she didn’t. To add to that at 10PM while trying out creams from a herbal garden the night before leaving I had a very bad reaction and they got me aloe vera from their garden, I don’t know what I would have done without them :) Place is also in the process of being very modernly renovated. I would 100% return!

The room felt a little damp but it is being renovated in the next few months, nothing that prevented me from sleeping.

The host and his family are very kind and helpful! Especially the breakfast was amazing!! The house is not far from the center. We enjoyed our stay in Ella very much and would recommend this GuestHouse to everyone!
