OVA Apartments Tulum

It’s brand new! It is always exciting when you are the first to try something! I felt like a I had the whole thing just for me! The beach is a short bike ride away (about 250 mts) which is perfect, because in Tulum you use your bike to go everywhere 😄 the views from the roof top are amazing and the sunset! One of the best I’ve ever seen!

The address was not found on any map locator, and our local taxi driver had never heard of the area and had as hard time finding the property. I reached out to the property manager the day before to ask if we could leave our bags there prior to check-in, and never received an answer to my question. The only response we got was that “check-in process takes 17 hours”. Upon arrival at the dead end of paved toad, there was nobody at the front desk or anywhere to be found. The entire area was an active construction site. The hoist with whom I was in contact repeatedly answered the phone, said a few things, and hung up on us. He said that security at the front could call a taxi for us or answer any questions we had. There was no security, no front desk, and nobody around beside construction workers who only spoke Spanish and were confused as to what we were doing there. When we did finally get a response to our room number and instructions to get in, we opened the door to 2 other people who were already staying in the room. After telling the host we needed a different room for this reason, he said we were wrong and hung up again. On 2 of our phone calls with the host, he stated that we could request a refund if we would like. We ended up booking another hotel and requested the refund, to which he denied and discontinued all communication. The pictures are misleading, and the building is under construction. There is no way to call a taxi, ask for assistance, or reach the main road. The host was not friendly, kept hanging up the phone, giving unclear directions, and making untrue statements.

We would like to file a complaint about the room we had booked at Beach and Ocean by Arova Tulum. • We were not informed about ongoing construction; for instance, our room lacked lights above the bed, and there were exposed wires. • Electricity frequently went out, and the internet was nearly unusable. • Our neighbors, in the adjacent apartment with almost paper-thin doors connecting us, were very noisy. We could hear them cooking, watching TV, or conversing. • Despite our request, we were denied the issuance of an invoice.

This apartment is brand new! I felt in a movie surrounded by so much nature! If you truly want to disconnect from the world and connect with yourself, this is the place! The beach was just about 200-300 meters from the complex which is not far at all. The pool … let’s just say I took some of the best pictures in there! If I could I would live here! It’s a no brainer😍
