The villa was beautifully presented with stunning views to the rear from the terrace. The salt-water pool was a huge hit with our children and the pergola and loungers offered shade from the strong Sicilian sun. The hosts were truly exceptional. They were incredibly charming and always on hand to help with no fuss. They even brought ear-pods and an audible translator to help with the language barrier which was invaluable. They are very friendly and know how to make you feel welcome. They fetched us melons grown by their extended family, left us local wine in the fridge and invited us for breakfast on the final day. Sadly our flight was too early to take them up on that invite, but a very lovely gesture all the same. Inside, the decor and comfort level was high. All rooms had either air conditioning or fans and the layout was perfect for our party of 4 adults and 8 children. There’s a supermarket nearby (EuroSpin and Lidl) that offer everything you could need to fill the fridge for your stay at great prices. The villa is well placed to visit the nearby attractions.

We should have hired cars! We decided to save money and not hire cars due to our family size and only having two willing drivers. There aren’t many foot paths on the surrounding roads which makes walking tricky - though easy enough for the supermarket. The taxis aren’t abundant, but again our hosts provided a local contact who provided transport when needed.
