DEBei diesem Camp handelt es sich um eine sehr kleine Anlage. Dementsprechend familiär ist die Atmosphäre mit Ali und seinen Brüdern und Cousins. Abendessen und Frühstück wurden frisch zubereitet. Qualität und Menge der gebotenen Speisen waren überdurchschnittlich. Die eine Nacht mit Thousand Stars Desert Camp wird unvergesslich bleiben.

ZAAli’s camp. Thousand Satrs, is for those travellers who want to truly experience the scale of the desert, the peacefulness and amazing hospitality. There are only two tents, and we were lucky enough to be alone. I couldn’t imagine experiencing fhis special place anywhere else - particularly in one of the bigger, busier camps. You do sacrifice some luxuries but the reward far outweighs. Thanks Ali and both Sadams

USThe highlight of my stay in Oman. The camp is located about 30 minutes into the desert and is pretty isolated from the other camps. It only has 2 guest tents so you can enjoy the starkness of the desert landscape, the Wahiba sand dunes, and the night sky. Be aware that there's no mobile or internet service! It's just you and the desert. There are several large dunes right next to the camp and the sand is so soft and clean that you can walk around the dunes and camp barefooted. There is an outdoor bathroom and shower with running (cold) water, which is nice. There are also several raised platforms around the camp for stargazing and watching the sunrise. No AC in the tent, but the desert cools down considerably at night. The service is really the star here. It was easy to communicate with Ali and his team before and during the visit over WhatsApp. When you arrive, you are given a welcome glass of tea and shown to your room. The dinner and breakfast were amazing, home cooked, and restaurant quality. I booked a sunrise camel ride for OMR 30 and the camel is kept onsite and the ride lasted for an entire hour and you ride without a western saddle and stirrups - a much better deal than the first time I took a camel ride in Marrakech. Ali was also kind enough to drive me from Nizwa to Wadi Bani Khalid, to lunch in his hometown of Bidiyah, and then to the camp. He also arranged for his nephew and a friend to drive me across the desert the next morning to Shannah port. Bedouin hospitality is the best!
