Malwathu Oya Forest Garden

We stayed here on our first night in Sri Lanka and enjoyed the confortable beds to recover from the trip. The place is really nice, a wonderful garden, rooms are spacious and clean, the family is very nice and the food was delicious! It's not in the center of Anuradhapura, but you can easily walk to the new town, 10 -15 min.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

We loved our stay here and would highly recommend it! The room was spacious, with large comfortable beds, and air conditioning and a fan. The bathroom was nice, with separate rooms for the toilet and shower. We also enjoyed the meal we had at the hotel. The couple who own the property were very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful, assisting us with organising tours of the ancient city, and a day trip to Wilpattu National Park. They also gave us helpful advice about buses, and helped us get to an ATM when we were short on cash. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.

The room key was a bit awkward to use, as the room only locked from the inside using the key, but also was needed to activate the electricity, meaning we had to lock/unlock the door in the dark, and it was hard for one person to leave without the other. A small bar fridge might also have been useful as an addition in the room.

owners were very friendly and they made sure we had everything we needed. their service even before we arrived was great as they contacted us a couple of times helping us with info. we were late to arrive than we planned but they were there to welcome us. they gave us some plates and cutlery to have food too. rooms were spacious and comfy as well as beds. aircon worked magic as we needed it that day.

nothing much to add here. i'd say a small bar fridge would be very handy as it's very hot area to keep your drinks cold and if you have any food leftover. perhaps a small table and a couple of chairs would be handy too.

That place is situated with a very calm and quiet surrounding and easy access to the Anuradhapura pooja nagaraya. They have a nice dine in area where you can have your meals enjoying the environment. So close to Malwathu oya and you can have a bath as well🤗 Food was delicious and the owners are very friendly and fexible with our requirements. Highly recommend this place.❤️

The breakfast at Malwathuoya Forest Garden was delightful, featuring Milk Rice, String Hoppers with White gravy, and coconut Sambol that were incredible tasty. The location is extra special, being very calm and quiet next to a lush green forest reserve. Watching friendly monkeys and enjoying the nearby natural water stream added a unique charm to our stay.

I didn't find anything not to like. Nothing could have been better than these isolated hidden premises giving you full freedom of life amidst the greenery within the modernized city limits. Plus, you can easily reach any location within ancient Anuradhapura in a very short time.

Facilities are exellent, And the dinner was absolutely good.

Peaceful location. Ideal for relaxing. Very comfy room.
