Myoko Onsen cottage Ajisai

Nice, neat and clean cabin with a cool natural onsen in cabin 2 (although to hot at the time of our stay). Best way to describe it would be it’s like a big 4 caravan park cabin, just neater and cleaner. For skiing it’s about a 10 minute walk to Kanko which is great. Would recommend having a car though so you can access the other Myoko resorts in winter. Also, there is wifi there.

No couch in the cabin definitely make trying to relay difficult, probably a different experience in summer, but for winter it’s definitely something that’s missing at the end of a hard day skiing. There wasn’t any shuttle or van ran by the place (atleast not one we knew of) which would be a great addition in winter to cut that walk down.

Fantastic and clean cabins. We had our own private onsen bath which was amazing. Quite spacious and warm and not far to get to the snow at all. Plus a kitchen, fridge and kettle. What more could you ask for!

The private onsen was amazing for aching bones. The closeness to the ski fields with an easy walk. Very comfortable beds and futons.

Everthing was perfect about this place. Food was excellent, staff was super helpful and the rooms were great. The hotspring (onsen) was nice as it was inside our cottage so it was private and very cool. Rooms were immaculate and the fridge and stove top with all necessary utensils was a definite plus! walkable to almost everything you need including the ski lifts at Akakura.

would not change anything! Please keep the Japanese style and feel to the place!

This company charged our card straight away, didn’t send any booking confirmation (only a request), and no information on how to check in. I emailed them and messaged them on instagram with no response. Their phone number listed was wrong, when I found the correct one to ask how to check in, they said they don’t speak English and hung up on me. This all took until after 4pm meaning we missed out on more time at our accommodation. We had to go to the hotel next door (which is apparently the reception ) to ask how to get in. They told us there was no room for us for dinner, and gave us no recommendations nearby. Despite being SO out of the way, they charge $15 aud for a 5 min taxi to town. They don’t do breakfast or transfers, we stayed at a place down the road for $150aud/night that booked dinner for us, transferred us around and provided breakfast. I am contacting the property and booking.com for a refund.

Host was excellent and very accomodating. The cabin was very new and had everything needed for a very comfortable stay. The onsen bath in the cabin was a highlight!

Not much to say that is negative.
