Babel Siem Reap Guesthouse

Very cosy place with great smiling personal. I enjoyed the food and the drinks - very good prices. I although booked with them an one day trip to the temple with a guide and tuk tuk :) it was awesome. In the evening they booked for us very good places at dance show with buffet and a tuk tuk.

The outdoor area including the kids areas are very nice. It is good looking and very welcoming. The family room option was very practical for our family with 2 double bed in the same room. The staff is very kind.

The bedsheets were stained so they did not look so clean and fresh. The mattresses are a bit aged and were not so comfortable. The bathroom could be renovated.

We booked this accommodation as part of our honeymoon trip from NZ because it looks tidy, had a nice pool and the description highlighted the focus on couples, solo travels etc. overall the pool is nice, the room is spacious and the restaurant makes really good food.

Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy our stay here because this is actually a family focused guesthouse which is not widely advertised on Booking.com. Due to the guesthouse nature the walls are thin and you can hear through the walls and above/below you. The pool was not relaxing due to how many children were constantly in it and some parents thought it was acceptable to have their kids running around, throwing things, screaming etc. well past 10pm. The bed was also way too hard and the bathroom sink and toilet had constant water sitting next to it - I told the staff but they weren’t bothered. After our second of 5 nights I contacted the property to ask to be moved to their Hotel because we couldn’t put up with all of this any longer, fortunately they were able to move us there for no additional cost, it was nicer than the guesthouse and we are grateful.
