"A unique gem!"

10.0

We had such a great stay , very social space with so much to do in one place. It's location is great for exploring Norfolk and the Chapel is great to come back to and enjoy the facilities. We had a jam session, enjoyed the pizza oven, the sauna and great TV for a family movie night. Our host was so helpful in providing instructions for everything. Will definitely be back!

Nothing we didn't like!

"Pleasant"

The box of Black Magic awaiting our arrival was welcome.. Brendan was amazingly responsive and the help given before and during our stay was prompt and helpful. The info given before our stay on things to do etc was also welcome. We loved having access to the musical instruments, loved the quirkiness of the place, very good value for money, we were going to the Thursford Christmas Spectacular so the location was fab as it was only a 10 min drive away. The Newham Bell pub was only a 5 min drive away and we loved the food. Co-op is 100yds away and there is a deli we didn't use at the end of the road, also approx 100m away so very convenient. The maps provided were handy for exploring the area. Tea towels, wash up liquid, dishwasher tabs, tea, coffee etc soap and shower/hair gel provided.

The property was freezing when we arrived and so not a pleasant arrival but it does heat up reasonably quickly when you've worked out how to work the heating and the fire downstairs. We had to switch the water heater and radiators off at night because they were really noisy and woke us all up early on the first night which meant the bedrooms and house were cold for a while when we first woke until we could switch them on again. The electric shower in the downstairs bathroom has very little power. The bed in the bedroom downstairs at the front of the house was very uncomfortable. The taps in the bathroom.upstairs we're difficult to use as they were too close to the wall. There were cluster flies in the single bedroom and bathroom upstairs which we're used to as we live in the countryside but don't want to deal with them when we're away. There didn't appear to be a TV aerial so the TV required the use of some sort of fire stick connected to the internet to make it work. We had fortunately brought ours with us. The cutlery, crockery and mugs etc were all a bit random, had the feel.of being picked up from a house clearance rather than being bought as a uniform set for holiday accomodation. Many of the mugs were tea stained. The metal plug sockets covers in the middle of the floor downstairs were dangerous as very easy to trip on. We had a couple of near misses. Having said all of this the property was described as being under refurbishment, was a reasonable price, and was in a location we needed and we were only there for 2 nights so overall it was good value for money. Brendan was also very responsive. We have stayed in alot of places and Brendan has been one of the most helpful hosts we've dealt with. We were very grateful of that on Sunday with a later check out than advertised and on arrival when we needed to get the girls bedrooms warm quickly.
