Brand New Downtown Harbor Apartment

Great location & lovely clean modern apartment with all the mod cons.

Just needs an extra curtain to cover the last bit of window when sleeping in the living area.

The property was exactly as it looks in the pictures. It was clean and comfortable with all the amenities that you need. Bed and sofa bed were very comfortable. The location was brilliant especially for early morning boat tours. The harbour is a good place to stay for trips and places to eat and drink. Thank goodness for a smart tv with a toddler!

The back door is a bit of a problem and isn’t easy to close at all, this could do with being fixed. The shower was not good. The bathroom is not a wet room and if you use the shower as intended, it will flood the whole room and everything in it!

I arrived late in the evening. Finding the keys in the mailbox was okay. I never used the parking that was available. I could never figure out how to get into the garage. I received a parking violation for parking in the open parking next to the bldg. I never was advised of the violation until I returned the car. The amount was $48.35 sent to my charge card.

Picture shown online were vastly different than the apartment I stayed in. When I arrived, I contacted the apartment manager and asked why I was given this apartment. I asked when I would be transferred to the apartment shown on online overlooking the Harbor. They never responded to my question. I was given an apartment overlooked a parking lot, not the harbor like they said it would overlook. The definition of overlooking is; verb have a view of from above: "the chateau overlooks fields of corn and olive trees" The directions for getting in the garage were poor.

We are family of 2 adults and 2 children (age 10 and 12) from the UK. The apartment is five star decorated and spacious. We walked in and all said wow. The sofa bed for our children was large, very comfortable and all our bedding incl towels were lovely. The apartment is quiet, with no noise at night. Location is excellent, a very short walk to the town centre. Plenty of restaurants just outside the door too. We particularly enjoyed the nearby bakery DEIG with blow torched creme brûlée donuts! The car park is easy to access and useful for anyone who hires a car. The place is a bit too warm but has everything you need. Felt nicer than staying in a hotel room for a few days and having more space and a lovely place to relax after a days sightseeing. We booked it because we wanted the washing machine and tumble dryer and these were easy to operate but the apartment had far more benefits and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city. The owner was quick to respond to our questions too. I would highly recommend this apartment to families.

Minor recommendations for improvement: 1. Oven gloves is all that is missing in the kitchen 2. A clothes dryer rack for clothes that can’t be tumble dried would be useful (Although we made use of the heated towel rail in the bathroom) 3. Better hangers in the wardrobe instead of the nonslip type, standard wooden ones would be fine.

Location was fantastic, beautiful apartment, host very responsive, parking garage was a bonus. Host sent video links for the garage and how to use the sofa bed, very helpful. Everything is within walking distance, very quiet, and comfortable. Washer and dryer were great to have, there is some bathroom supplies left as well, kitchen has spices and we love Nespresso coffee maker-get the pods, not ground coffee 😉Three grocery stores right across the street, coffee shops and bakeries near by, plenty of restaurants and shops, so convenient. Definitely would love to come back.

Not a big deal, but the info about the trash collection and recycling would be appreciated before the check in. We already had some trash mixed up by the time we got the message. Not a big deal, but I would add it to the “welcome” email.

What a great location to watch the harbor and access some of Reykjavik's attractions like the Lava Show.

We didn't find the recyclables or organics bin.

The location is excellent. The flat is sleek and the amenities are excellent.

The bathroom lock didn’t work.

The location was lovely, just by the old harbour, and away from the main downtown. So it felt a little easier for seeing some of the outer beauty of the city while still being easy distance of downtown and other attractions. The apartment is new, very cosy, and well equipped with everything needed for preparing food at home. It is also nice to have a little terrace for sitting on and enjoying the interesting harbour view. A few basic food supplies (salt, oil), as well as shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, were provided.

For some reason we couldn't quite get the heating settings right. It often seemed very warm. The first night, one duvet was dirty with lots of spots of mud, and a sheet for the sofa bed was missing. In addition, the seats of the dining table needed a hoover (some dog like hair?). We requested support on all these issues with the owners / team, and received immediate support. The next day on return from a trip, we received a new duvet cover, and seats were cleaned. Owners / management team were very responsive to all questions and concerns. It wasn't quite clear where to leave our rubbish at the end of the trip, but the management team were kind enough to say we could leave this and they would sort it
