This apartment in Tuscany, in the countryside but very close to the city of Siena, was a great choice for us as we got the best of a city break while living in a more peaceful rural setting. Sofia and Jurgen were the most helpful of hosts. Thay said they aimed to offer a comfortable home from home experience and they certainly achieved their aim. They are also keen on sustainability and provided eco friendly materials. e.g washing up liquid, for guests, so it was very easy to share their approach. All of the basic equipment and sundries for self catering were supplied - more than we could use. The apartment is in a beautiful 15/16th century building, so it was easy to feel part of the history of Siena. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Screens have been fitted to most windows and are very effective at keeping out insects without impairing the view. Jurgen fitted an additional mosquito net over one of the beds to make it even more inaccessable to mosquitos - a welcome addition for those who, like me, are allergic to mosquito bites. A spacious bathroom with a powerful shower was a very welcome feature of the accommodation. Jurgen and Sofia were kind enough to offer us some of their own delicious olive oil and homegrown basil which made our tomato salads even more delightful.

Siena in June is very warm, even at night. In a traditional building without air conditioning this is was challenging but the fans provided in the bedrooms helped with that. Ideally an additional fan for the kitchen/ dining area would be useful as we had to keep moving the fans around. Because of the heat, the walk to the city was too challenging for us. For visitors in the summer months I think it would be essential to have use of a car.

We stayed at Podere Piazza for the month of April. Nestled in the countryside of Siena, minutes from the Siena city center, this charming house offers an authentic Italian experience. The house is clean and comfortable, and we had everything we needed for our stay. The spacious kitchen, fully equipped for preparing your meals and the cozy living room, provides a perfect setting for relaxation and enjoying the local flavors. Our host, Sofia, and her husband Jürgen, were so charming and friendly. They gave us so many tips for restaurants, shopping, and day excursions to neighboring towns in Tuscany. Overall, this Tuscan house offers a delightful blend of tranquility and accessibility. It's a place where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the region, creating lasting memories of your Italian getaway. We hope to return in the future!

Our group had a beautiful few nights in Siena, we wished that we could have stayed longer. Sofia was a wonderful host who provided us with everything we needed and more. The accomodation was well stocked with coffee/tea, pantry items and home grown/made olive oil. The house was clean and quickly warmed up with heating. A 15 minute walk into Siena made it the ideal location for us to explore Siena and nearby towns. The house has also has a great view of Siena. We would love to visit again!

Wonderful hosts and incredible home.. Such a peaceful home and beautiful location that I just can’t put into words. The walk into Siena city and major historical attractions was so pleasant.. I will definitely be back..

Everything was really good, the place was very clean, very well equipped with a lot of space and style. The owners are really there to help you with everything you may need. They are incredible gentle and well educated persons so it was a pleasure to chat with them. The place has an excellent location at a walking distance of the center of the town. The views are incredibly, you are really immersed in the "Tuscany fields" but at the same time, close to the city center. An excellent experience Highly recommended.

Everything about our stay here was just perfect! Location brilliant, host Sofia communicated clearly and helpfully. Stunning scenery! Clean as a whistle. Would 100% return.

There were some barking dogs in the area during the night.
