Beautiful Studio Apartment in Historic House

Convenient small studio, with a stove, small fridge and freezer, Keurig coffee machine, and toaster. Comfortable for one person or a couple. There's a washer and dryer downstairs, you can use coins to do laundry.

In the summer, plan to get there and turn on the AC unit and the fan early, before it gets too hot. Make sure you're comfortable walking a steep staircase to the basement if you plan to do laundry. You need a car or cab to get to campus, about 1.3 miles away. I didn't really see anyone walking around in the neighborhood.

way too small, no place to put anything down, bed was too soft. and couldnt see the tv if lying in bed

I prefer a firm mattress, but that's a personal choice.

I was a little nervous about the location and wouldn't have felt comfortable walking around by myself at night.

Otherwise, everything was great, though there was some street noise fairly late

The kitchen was well stocked with plates, pans, and cutlery, as well as a full gas stove (as shown). The bathroom was completely adequate and came with a lot of towels. The neighborhood felt safe to me as a single woman, and the apartment as a short walk both to the cycle/walking path that goes into downtown New Haven and to two of the free Yale shuttles, one of which loops all the way to the rail station (but only runs on weekdays during business hours) and one of which goes to North campus. There were also decent buys connections within a few blocks. The door locks were easy to use. The host was very responsive to messages on Booking, at all times of the day and night (my plane was delayed, so I arrived well after midnight the first night). Thank you!

There is no thermostat in the apartment, so I found it uncomfortably warm (it was December, so I had not packed shorts or tee shirts). There was a fan, but it took a lot to get the room down to a comfortable temperature. The laundry is in the basement and comes with a fee, which can only be paid in quarters--I really wish I had known this beforehand, as it was a mile walk to the nearest laundromat and also a half mile walk to the nearest shop that would make change for me. Had I know it would be very warm and that I would need quarters, I would have found the trip much easier, but the hosts were very responsive and helpful when I had issues.

I didnt like that the bed wasn’t made the sheet comforter was all the way at the bottom of the bed when I got in so I felt uncomfortable and also there was a extra already used rag in the bathroom
