Howard Johnson by Wyndham Near Schlitterbahn

Location was good.

Breakfast was cold every morning. Got there on the first day, hanging out by the pool, kids were swimming and a thunderstorm came through, lasted about 15 minutes then cleared up and was sunny out. no one ever came out to check to see if people were in the pool at that time. I was sitting by the pool with a nephew about 30 minutes later and staff came and said due to weather they were closing the pool and they kept it locked the rest of the day so the kids could look at the sunshine and the empty pool but not swim. back to breakfast, there was a sign there that said please do not take food back to the room for sanitary reasons or you would be charged an additional $50, the sanitary part was the funny part because due to the kids not being able to swim in the pool, they were barefoot, playing in the hallway (not being loud and crazy) and when we went back into the room their feet were black (no exaggeration at all) ,im talking filthy black on the bottom. Also, we hadn't even gotten all of our stuff out of the room and they were already trying to come in and start cleaning the room, they did throw items away in my nephews room, not knowing if he had just stepped out for breakfast and was coming back. Will not be back.

Beds were comfy, staff was great.

No where to put luggage and the air conditioner froze up easy fix put it on fan to clear the ice

Booking.com showed it as 7.0 rating out of 10. It was a really trashy place. The young girl at front desk was pleasant but New Braunfels was 90 degrees and in the room it was 80 degrees. I reserved for an air conditioned room. I turned the air on and an hour passed and it still wasn’t cold. The bathroom was dirty. The employee offered me another room and it was 90 degrees also. It had a bad smell in room and got it was impossible to tolerate. My husband’s allergies started acting up and after an hour I told employee I need a refund and there was no way I would stay there. We didn’t last more than an hour and the owner kept $60 from my payment. That is ridiculous because they posted something the hotel doesn’t provide. You need to be aware of what is posting on your site I definitely won’t trust it. What can I do to get my total refund? He only refunded $359 after all the inconvenience how dare he keep my money.

From the beginning stop telling lies about what the hotel looks like and provides. Also the bed was holding up a mattress with a steel stick and I banged my ankle that is very dangerous. It smells and not air conditioned as promised. Worst experience ever. It took me another 2 hours to find somewhere to stay. Imagine if I didn’t have money to rent another decent room to sleep in. I will let my traveling nurses that booking.com is not to be trusted.
